We are often asked why go far away when there is much work to do in our community. This is a fair question and one that has different answers for different groups. Going away should never be in-place of working locally, but as most people find who go away, they become more open to community outreach. The villages of Senegal are remote and the lives of the people of the Wolof tribe are very different than ours. Aside from the differences, they welcome and are encouraged by visitors. As we work to build relationships, we learn more about ourselves and the love of God. God has called some to Senegal and our hearts feel that we are some of those called.
